We moved to Buckshaw Village Lancashire in October 2004. The village looked a lot different then with only a few streets. I never really had a hobby, working, children and keeping house took up most of my time. My husband bought me a candle making kit one year for Christmas which I put in a cupboard and forgot about it. I, probably like many others bought the well-known luxury candle brands with matching room sprays and reed diffusers and trust me these weren’t cheap. So I thought I’d have a go at making a candle myself, out came the candle making kit, and I really enjoyed it, I made them for family and friends who said they really liked them and kept telling me that I should sell them.
So the seed was planted. Fast forward to 2019 and we decided to give it a go.
After many long hours trying to come up with a name for the company, we settled on Hyperion Candles, as this gave reference to the Greek Titan God of heavenly light which we thought fitted the concept we were looking for.
All our candles are handmade, hand poured and hand packaged to order by us. We use only Soy Wax supplied locally in Lancashire, Soy wax is biodegradable and Vegan friendly and has a cleaner burn and is better for the home environment. All the ingredients we use are vegan friendly with nothing being tested on animals.
Where possible all our packaging is recyclable, environmentally friendly or designed to be reused multiple times.
We are passionate that Hyperion Candles will one day be a household name renowned for our exceptional quality and value. We strive to fly the flag by only using UK manufacturers where practicable.
So! What makes us different?
Firstly, you choose the fragrance, then choose the candle container, lid (only on the clear candle), finally tell us how many you would like. All this is then processed, hand made to order, packaged by us then shipped to your door. You will also receive a random fragranced tea light in with your selected candle, as a thank you.
We also offer a service where you can purchase your candle, enjoy the beautiful fragrance in the comfort of your home and when it is finished, return the candle in the original packaging to have it refilled at a reduced cost. This way we all do our bit for the environment.
